alter placement of dynamic connector segments

Is it possible to alter the algorithm Visio uses to create the segments of a
dynamic connector? In particular, when a dynamic connector links shapes in
different parts of the page, there is a bias for placing the middle segment
nearer one shape than the other. I would like to place the middle segment at
the vertical and horizontal midpoint between the shapes.

I can add a Controls section to place the connector text at the correct
midpoint, but the line segment placement is controlled elsewhere...

I presume I could monitor the drop event and adjust the Geometry section
after the connector has been dropped, but it seems as though I should be able
to specify the placement in advance.

Thanks,
Scott

How would you like to add third shape that is small and locates at middpoint.

Interesting idea, but I apparently don't understand what you mean. If I add a
second geometry section to the connector it does create a another shape but
it doesn't affect the placement of the dynamic connector segments (or I don't
know where to set formula to affect placement). If I add another shape and
group it with the dynamic connector, the result is no longer a dynamic
connector.

And nothing seems to prevent Visio from altering the X/Y coordinates for the
segment endpoints -- not even GUARD().

Can you elaborate on your suggestion?

Perhaps, you can make such a connector. there is a classic connector that the
middle part is always at the mid point between starting point and end point.
But you might be hard to modify the geometry section of the dynamic connector.
So, I reccomend you to modify that classic connector.
