Alternatives to PWA?

K

Keith

I'm looking for an alternative to PWA to view project schedules. We only use
PWA to view schedules on the shop floor, not to update tasks, resources, etc.
PWA is clumsy, makes poor use of screen real estate, and can only print in
tabluar format. Also, since we use generic logins on the shop floor
computers, access to PWA gets tricky.

Has anyone else used a Project Viewer, MS or 3rd party, with Project Server
2003? Any other suggestions or ideas are appreciated?

Thanks!

I'll have to disagree with you there. We find PWA to be a wonderful
tool. Perhaps there is room for improvement, but, the functionality it
gives, and its ease of use, make it nearly invaluable to our daily
operations.

Perhaps that is something that needs adressing on its own.

Yes. It is called Microsoft Project Professional. It has everything
PWA has and more.

Besides PWA and Project Pro, we have a web based reporting tool
customized for our use. The Project Database can be queried for a
plethora of information, and your favorite reporting tool can present
the data in any which way you'd prefer.
