Always get 'unable to import ppt into Producer' error

I have Vista Ultimate with Office Pro 2003 Powerpoint. I downloaded
Microsoft Producer 2003 and then 2007 and get the same problem. I can import
an audio track but always get the following error when importing even the
simplest PPT file: "*.ppt could not be imported. Microsoft Producer was
unable to import the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation." I saw one fix, to
uncheck separate audio and video box, but no luck. Are there any solutions??
