Am I going to have to use another product key when I reformat my harddrive?

I was shutting down my computer and running the FileVault file remover
and I turned off my wireless keyboard and my iMac G5 realized it lost
the connection and stopped the FileVault process and now I've lost a
bunch of my personal settings, Safari wont run and I've lost a large
amount of personal files, including programs.
Thank God I have no lost any of my Office documents or programs. I'm
going to install Leopard tomorrow and I'm considering reformatting my
hard drive when I do so, will I have to use another product key when I
reinstall Microsoft Office 2004?

No - if you're reformatting the HD all traces of the current install will be
removed. You can use the same key as many times as necessary as long as you
don't use it for more than *one* active installation. Just make sure that
when you install in Leopard that you apply all Office updates in order
beginning with 11.3.5 through 11.3.9 before running the Office apps.

Also, if you have any customizations and/or want to retain your email &
identities have a look at the following page in order to preserve that data
*before* you reformat your HD:

http://word.mvps.org/Mac/RemoveReinstall.html

Although you don't need to run the Remove Office tool in this case you *do*
want to follow the procedures at the links for "best practices for backing
up" & "customized files" in the first 2 paragraphs of the Before Using the
Remove Office Tool section.
