Ampersand in a label

I'm trying to have a ampersand in my caption of a label. This is what I have
in my caption T. Whitman & Assoc.: but it looks like T. Whitman _ Assoc.:
How would I fix it so the & shows up? Thanks in advance

Yes, ampersand is used to make keyboard shortcuts, so to display an
ampersand, you need to double it up like this:

T. Whitman && Assoc.:

Type two of them in the label and you are on your way:
So: T. Whitman && Assoc.
