Hi,

The problem you are experiencing may be caused caused by a corrupt Outlook profile. Please perform the following steps to create a new profile. It will most likely resolve your issue.

Follow these steps to create a new e-mail profile in Outlook 2003:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Switch to Classic View, and then double-click Mail.
3. In the Mail Setup dialog box, click Show Profiles.
4. On the General tab, click Prompt for a profile to be used, and then click Add.
5. In the Profile Name box, type a descriptive name for the new e-mail profile, and then click OK.
6. In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click Add a new e-mail account, and then click Next.
7. Click the appropriate server type for your new e-mail account, and then click Next.
8. Type your account information in the required boxes, and then click Next.
9. Click Finish, and then click OK.

Hello Scott-

I have the same issue- but also have SOME sense of what caused it. Seems
that the synch engine on an iPhone and OL07 are not the best of friends and
changes made to contacts on the phone choke the send process in Outlook. I
do not know what is technically happening- but when I clicked the send
button, OL tired to send about a gazzillion times. (It took about 5 minutes
fo rthe queue of send attempts to clear. When it was done... no message but
my outbox says it has one. And if I tre to send and receive I get the same
sit and spin cycle.

Is there no way to repair this? (I have run SCANPST and found no errors.
If I set up a new profile I will have to reset all my email accounts. What
happens to all my history and folders in my PST? Sine you are MSFT employee-
is the Outlook team aware of this?

Thanks

Grant- if you have the samce concerns I did- this may help. I added a new
profile per Scotts suggestion. I then began adding PST files to that profile
and noticed that the old outbox (now showing in the new profile) showed teh
actual item that was absent in the old one. I deleted, closed outlook and
then removed the new profile. when I opened outlook (with the old profile)
the box was clean. So while I still need Apple to do something about
corrupting Contacts in sync- I can send email again.

This issue seems to be escalating. I posted on another thread but found this
one again as i was searching.

I have another outbox item stuck. I have tried a new profile, working
offline and even using MDBVU32 as suggested by other MVP's - but the item is
still stuck and I get an error message saying that I either do not have
permission or it cannot be removed because it is sending. This seems to
happen about very 2 weeks and gets harder to fix every time. I cannot work
on webmail forever.

Any new ideas on this?
