AN ERROR OCCURRED APPLYING ATTRIBUTES TO THE FILE..

I have word documents on rewrittable CD's and for an unknown reason all of
the documents on each CD have become read-only. When I right click on the
document, then click on properties I see the check mark next to Read-Only.
When I uncheck the box and click apply I get a message that says "AN ERROR
OCCURRED APPLYING ATTRIBUTES TO THE FILE". I have no choose to say cancel or
ignore. When I go back in it still says Read-Only.
Does anybody know how I can remove the Read-Only from all of these documents
and believe me there are a lot of docs?
Thank you in advance..

This newsgroup is for beginner's questions about Microsoft Access
database software, and not the best place for your problem.

As far as I know, the answer is that rewritable CDs don't work the same
way as hard disks, and that it's not possible to have read-write Word
documents on one. In order to work with the Word documents, you need to
copy them to a hard drive and then turn off their read-only attributes,
or open them from the CD and use Save As to get them onto the hard
drive.

For more information, read up on rewritable CDs.
