Analysis ToolPak - Excel 97 - doesn't work

In Excel 97 I have attached the add-in for the Analysis ToolPak using
Tools - Add-ins

I then go to the Tools menu and select Data Analysis - at which point
nothing happens

Any ideas how to fix it so this works

Which of the following are you saying?
- "Data Analysis" does not appear on the Tools menu
- "Data Analysis" does appear on the Tools menu, but when you select it
you do not get the Data Analysis dialog listing the Analysis Tools
- You do get the Data Analysis dialog, but you don't know how to use the
tools on it
