animated background

Hello!
A customer asked us to do some science-fiction themed charts with an
animated background like the starfield-screensaver in windows. We are
planning to do it as a video. But is there a way to do it in
Powerpoint? From what I know, every movie and flash-animation sets
itself to the foreground once running, so that wouldn´t be a solution.
Any ideas?

what about an animated GIF? Create it in a graphic program like Jasc
Animation Shop (part of Jasc PaintShopPro) and insert it into the slide
master. It will stay in the background and play continuously.

But is your customer aware, that a full-size animated background will
distract viewers attention from slide content? I would suggest a dark
background and a flash animation or Animated GIF with the same background
color as a border on one side (inserted on master). Adjust text placeholders
to leave this border free of text.
