I'm fairly new to powerpoint, and never inserted video before. What a
nightmare!
I'm on windows xp using powerpoint 2007; my client is running vista but is
seeing similar problems there.
The problem(s):
-flash of black before video plays
-video not playing smoothly, stuttering
-a couple of the videos appearing very jagged and compressed, even though
they are encoded identically to the others
The videos:
-originally done in adobe after effects as quicktime movies
-converted to .wmv using mpeg streamclip with flip4mac
An additional oddity:
I started this project originally in an old version of ppt on the mac, which
was a disaster (crashing, compatibility issues), switched to using pc/ppt
2007 on my tiny netbook. The show is in what was the default size in my
version (720x540)...the animations were created in that size so we're stuck
with it. But here's what I don't understand: although the background image is
720x540, when I insert a movie, it comes in much smaller and I have to scale
it up...even though it is also 720x540. I'm wondering if that scaling has
something to do with why it's glitching.
Also tried the Plays for Certain Pro software, but it didn't appear to make
any difference.
