Hi,
Echo has nailed it. Vox proxy uses a scripting wizard, and has quite a
number of characters available. Also, there is a view you can package with
it, although it is still the 97 version.

There's an MS Agent webring which may be helpful to you as you investigate
the use of agents in your presentation.
http://www.msagentring.org/ I'm
pretty sure the Merlin, Peedy and Robby characters are free. (I know I did a
demo using Merlin some time ago, and I didn't have to pay for him or
anything like that.)
VoxProxy (as TAJ suggested) has Merlin, Peedy and Robby, too. They can be
seen at
https://www.voxproxy.com/cgi-bin/vox.pl I believe VoxProxy makes the
use of agents a bit easier, as it works as a PPT add-in which has scripting
and testing controls right there for you to use -- you don't have to type in
the code by hand.

a while ago I saw a presentation that had animated characters that moved
around the screen (and moved arms etc) pointing to different items on a
powerpoint screen and spoke about each point before moving to the next
slide. There was a parrot, a robot and a wizard.
Where do I get these and how do you use them? tried searching all the
key words I could think of - any suggestions
