animated .gif in signature

I have an animated .gif in my signature file, yet it
keeps disappearing leaving only the image placeholder and
not the image itself. I'm running Windows 98, Outlook
2000. Any help would be appreciated!

Also - on another computer running Windows XP, Outlook
2000, I don't have the disappearing problem but when
people receive my messages the animated .gif appears in
the signature -- and the message has an attachment
symbol. I'm perlexed.....
