animating text

I set the font property of a word in a paragraph
to "blink", but it is not blinking on the website. What
am I missing?

Hi, Candace,

Whether you are using the BLINK element, which is deprecated if it even
exists anymore, or the text-decoration: blink CSS property, blink wasn't
implemented in IE. So you wouldn't get any special effects from using this
formatting.

I would suggest getting a very simple gif animator either from a freeware or
shareware site or from another source. GIF Construction Set (from Alchemy
Mindworks) is a gif animator I've worked with before, and you can download a
functional demo from http://www.mindworkshop.com/alchemy/gifcon.html.
