Animations do not show in presentation

When I view the slide show my animations do not show at all - i.e. the
animated content does not appear at all on the slide being shown and all that
is there is a blank space

Have you tried clicking the mouse or pressing the space bar to start the
animation? I'm guessing it's waiting for a click

Thanks for the input. Yeah, it's not the prompting that's the problem. When
prompted the show moves on to the next non-animated item and my animated
content does not come up into the sllide show at all. I have done many slide
shows with animations and have never had this problem before. All my old
slide shows work just fine (animations and all) it's only the new shows that
I'm building that now have this problem manifesting and I'm completely
stumped. I thought that there might have been a problem / issue with my
master slide compilation, but even here I've tried different permutations and
the same thing keeps happening.

Hi John

Have you checked slide show -> set up show dialogue? There's a tick box for
showing without animation...
