animations in sync with music?

A question about synchronizing:
Is it possible to sync the running musicstream with animation settings (or
v.v.)?
The audiotrack has the same length as the total time of all animations.
The audiofile starts to play with the start of the slide. All the animations
are starting after the previous ones, settings are in a timeline.
E.g. an object appears at the clash of cymbals or an object(a hart) pumping
small and big in the beat of the bassdrum?

What you are trying to achieve is very difficult. PowerPoint is not equipped
to synchronize music and animation.

In addition to Luc's caveat and suggestion, you might check into VoxProxy.
Aside from the characters, it has some very nice media handling features,
and I believe it will allow you to synch animations and sound.
