Hotmail accounts could be accessed with Hotmail web interface, Outlook
Express or Outlook 2002. But the most common question is "How to
access Hotmail in Outlook 2000?"

Internet search shows there is no simple and convenient solution for
this problem:

Microsoft Knowledge Article 234704 "You cannot view Hotmail messages
in Outlook 2000" http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;q234704.
Microsoft Outlook, unlike Microsoft Outlook Express, does
not have an option to use Microsoft Hotmail e-mail accounts. You can
view your Hotmail e-mail in Outlook by creating a Hotmail folder and
then associating a Web view of that folder that points to the Hotmail
Web site.

SLIPSTICK Systems Article "Configuring Hotmail Support in Outlook 2000
(IMO)" http://www.slipstick.com/config/ol2000hotmail.htm.
In some
cases, it is possible to access a Hotmail Inbox in Outlook 2000 in
Internet Mail Only Mode with Office Service Release 1/1a applied.
NOTE: This is an unsupported hack that works for some people; if it
doesn't work for you, no information is available to explain why not.

The simplest and effective solution for this problem is HTTPMP.

HTTPMP is Hotmail(HTTP E-mail) MAPI transport for Outlook 97, 98,
2000-2002. Mainly HTTPMP is used to access Hotmail accounts from
Outlook 2000 or other Outlook versions. Or even other MAPI client
applications.

Note: stopping free Outlook Express support by Microsoft affects HTTMP
to. You need MSN Hotmail Plus or MSN Premium subscribtion to access
Hotmail with HTTPMP
