GREETINGS - MORNING OF 10/23/08 - AFTER RUNNING AUTOUPDATE FOR MICROSOFT
OFFICE, ENTOURAGE FAILED TO FETCH INCOMING MAIL FROM THE EXCHANGE SERVER.
ALL OTHER ELEMENTS SEEMED TO WORK FINE EXCEPT IN BOX.

AFTER USING DATABASE UTILITY, LOCATED IN MICROSOFT FOLDER, CHECKED DATABASE
NO ERRORS BUT REBUILT THE DATABASE REGARDLESS. RESTARTED COMPUTER, SAME
PROBLEM.

OPENED ACCOUNT SETTINGS AND RE-ENTERED ALL DATA AND IN SAME FIELDS STILL NO
FIX.

AS A LAST OPTION, I CREATED A NEW EXCHANGE SERVER ACCOUNT WITH MY CURRENT
SETTINGS AND SUCCESS! ONCE THE NEW ACCOUNT SYNCHED AND I CONFIRMED THAT
CALENDARS AND CONTACTS FROM SERVER FETCHED TO COMPUTER, I DELETED THE
INOPERATIVE FIRST ACCOUNT.

AS A NOTE I UPDATE AND SAVE MY PRIMARY USER IDENTITY AT LEAST WEEKLY AND
THEN SAVE ALL FILES TO .RGE FILE WEEKLY ALSO.

HOPE THIS HELPS.

First of all, please do not type in all caps. It is considered to be
"shouting."

The problem you describe is not uncommon and can generally be fixed by
control-clicking your Inbox in the folder list and choosing Folder
Properties > Empty Cache.

I also tried emptying the cache and the problem still exists. Is there an alternative solution/fix??

Tks.

Can you send emails? What folder is affected? Did you empty the cache on the
folder or the entire server?

All other functions seem to work with the exception of sending meeting grabbers and/or accepting same. Msgs seem to get stuck in out box with this new error code.

The Meeting Invitation issue is another matter.

If you are able to send normal mail, that confirms that your account is
still functioning. Please answer my other question about emptying the cache
on the folder vs. the account.

You can also try deleting the account and re-creating it. Assuming all your
mail is saved safely on the server.

Following earlier recommendations, I deleted the Microsoft Office 2008
folder from Applications, and then restored it from a recent backup (via
Time Machine). It worked without a hitch and I'm back to work.
