Annoying dialog box in Excel 2000

When I am creating the formula "underlayment" for a spreadsheet in Excel
2000, sometimes a box will pop up between the copy and paste commands
offering me certain "paste choices". Is there a way to disable this?

Did you check the options? Maybe something about tooltips? (I can't be sure
because I don't have 2000 loaded on any of our computers.)

Thanks for the tip. There is an item in Tools/Options/Edit, "Alert before
overwriting cells", which was checked. Since the offending box only popped
up once in awhile, this sounds like the culprit.

I know where you're coming from on that. But I always overwrite cells with
existing numerical or formulaic values (don't know how an Excel user could
survive otherwise) without getting a message, even though that box has been
checked. So I'm hoping this is a just a case of Microsoft dropping the ball

If it was a dropped ball in Excel 2000, it's probably a bit too late to tell
them. ;-)
