Many of you have seen the new interface for Office 12:

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/features/2005/sep05/09-13OfficeUI.mspx

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/images/features/2005/09-13Office12-Word_lg.jpg

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/images/features/2005/09-13Office12-PPT_lg.jpg

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/images/features/2005/09-13Office12-Access_lg.jpg

However, Publisher 12 will not be one of the Office applications receiving
the new interface. Instead of the UI, the Publisher team focused on adding
more requested features and improvements...requested by YOU, the consumer.
As David mentioned in an earlier posting, the much too often request for PDF
is finally making it to Publisher 12 (as well as other Office Applications).
The MVP's in this group have been monitoring your requests over the past
couple years since Publisher 2003 came out (and prior to that) and have been
successful in getting many of your wishes implemented.

As the public beta draws near in the next year, we hope as many people can
try to help squash some bugs and give you a preview of the upcoming DTP app
from Microsoft. http://beta.microsoft.com is your place to sign up for
betas. Stay tuned!

What amazed me was that Steven Sinofsky (sp?) said the Microsoft was getting
120,000 requests a month for PDF capabilities. And it's going to happen
thanks to the Publisher team at MS! :)

119,000 of those were me :p

Glad to hear it. That makes me feel good. Without breaking NDA, tell
us....did Pub 12 "WOW" you?

Knocked my socks off. :) More than anything else I'd seen or learned
about - and there were some pretty cool things to be seen. I guess it's
because I'm biased. I think Publisher is a great program.
