Another tuff one

I have a query on a table that is used in a report. Now all number saved in
the table are + numbers and I need to change some to - numbers either in the
report or query when summed so totals are correct. I'm trying to give an
accurate total using Credits Applied in place of money. I hope that is
clear.

Joe,

Answered elsewhere.
Please do not multi-post. If you feel you must post the same question
to more than one newsgroup (and it's seldom necessary), cross-post by
adding each additional newsgroup in the To Newsgroups: box, separated
by a comma.
This way an answer in one newsgroup will be seen in each of the
others. More readers will see the response and learn, and less time
will be spent on duplicate answers.

See Netiquette at http://www.mvps.org/access

It's a great site to visit anyway.

Sorry, I wasn't sure which group I would get an answer from. If I had cross
posted it someone would have complained about cross posting. Beside I so
rarely get my questions asked in the query group that I asked here where
they seem to answer more. Didn't mean to offend anyone.

Not offended Joe. I was just trying to be helpful - to you and others
who may benefit from reading your question and it's answer.

Perhaps your post in the query group was un-answerable, or the answer
unknown, or it was a full moon, but most of us read many groups (I do
10), so it probably would have been seen but unanswered no matter
where you posted that day.

By cross-posting, all the newsgroups listed in the Newsgroup: line
will display your post, and more importantly, all those newsgroups
will display any from any of the other groups. So, if someone in
Reports sees your post and a reply was made in the Queries newsgroup,
no time will be spent in a duplicated response if the reply correctly
answered your question. However, if the reply was not correct, you get
the benefit of getting a better answer from the second group. By
multi-posting, each group gets it's own reply, and no one in another
group will see it.

Realistically, it's seldom necessary to post to more than one or two
groups.
