I frequently get emails and information that needs your product, however,
being a widow and on a fixed income, I am unable to purchase this product.
Please inform me if there is any provision for free home versions, as well as
how one would go about receiving it.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

There are no free versions of anything from Microsoft. It is a for-profit
company. They do, however, have a charitable giving program that you or any
organization you belong to might qualify for. Contact your local Microsoft
subsidiary.

Otherwise, you can use any one of many free Office alternatives, such as
OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org. There are many others as well.
