Genuine Advantage/Installation Problem

Matt K.

Hello, everyone! I have a problem and I wanted to see if anyone can help me.
I'm at my wits end and I'd really appreciate any help. Here's the story...

I bought a new Dell Laptop computer in November 2008 with Windows Vista. No
office software was on it, so I also bought a copy of Microsoft Office 2007:
Home and Student Edition. This has been validated and has been certified as
an genuine copy. Everything is fine up to this point.

About a week ago, I downloaded a trial version of Microsoft Publisher 2007
from the Microsoft website to see if I wanted to purchase it. I liked what I
saw so, but I do not buy products online. I planed to uninstall the trial
version from my computer, purchase the full version from a local store and
install the full version on my computer.

When I went to uninstall the trial version, my computer refused to uninstall
it, telling me that the installation file "was missing" or "had been
corrupted." So basically it's stuck on my computer. What's more, the programs
that came with Home and Student have stopped letting me download things and
use some features claiming that publisher is "not geniune"

I went out to Office Max today and purchased the Microsoft Publisher 2007
Upgrade (since I already have home and student) and tried to install it,
assuming that the program would overwrite the trial version and correct the
"not genuine" problem. Unfortunately, this was not the case. When I put the
CD into the drive and tried to run SETUP it came up with the same error
message and refused to install.

I can validate the software as a genuine copy and use the software I
purchased as soon as I can get my computer to either:

A) Uninstall the trial version so I can put on the full version
B) Allow me to install the full version I purchased today over the trial
version

Is there anything you can do to assist me? I'm sure you understand that it's
frustrating to purchase a product and not be able to use it. I do indeed have
genuine copies of both. Thank you in advance for your help.
