Any issues that will arise from replacing a non genuine Office Pro

After installing a microsoft download re Genuine Advantage it transpires I
have a non genuine version of Office Professional. I am now seeking to
replace with a genuine version, either Enterprise or Pro Plus.

Anyone know what the differences are?

Will I lose data stored on the non genuine copy when I download the new
genuine version? If so, what do I do to ensure I keep all data?

Will I encounter any issues or need to consider anything else?

Any other guidance?

Many thanks

Backup anytime you are making any significant changes to a computer.

Where are you going to get the "legal" copy of Enterprise or Pro Plus?
Those versions are only sold through volume licensing to businesses and from
the business through the home use program to their employees and/or
students. It can only be installed onto one machine and there are other
restrictions dealing with employment or schools. If you are buying from the
web and have not employee or school relationship to the program's sponsor
the purchase would be putting you right back into the same boat you are in
now and not having a genuine copy.

The difference between the two versions is that two programs are not
available in the Plus version. This lists the programs that are in
Enterprise and Pro Plus.

Access 2007
Communicator 2007
Excel 2007
Groove 2007 - not in Plus
InfoPath 2007
OneNote 2007 - not in Plus
Outlook 2007
PowerPoint 2007
Publisher 2007
Word 2007

Thanks - I will be buying genuine as my daughter is at school & will require
Office etc when she attends Snr school next year.

Thanks for the guidance - when I download, will I lose or retain all
existing data?

I am buying from an accredited site linked from Microsoft.

Thx again

Don't download. You will get a better price from Amazon or other on-line
retailers PLUS you will get a DVD as well, rather than just an installation
file.

Interesting - cost was around £40 - can you provide a link to what you are
talking about?

As & when I buy/download will I retain all existing files?

Thx again, very much apprec!

You should not lose any data when you "install" but it is always safer to
ensure a good data backup before any major computer maintenance like
reloading software.

A DVD. For easy of re-installation...

Gordon and OP, looking at the site their FAQs at
http://www.software4students.co.uk/FAQ.aspx#q2 answered most of the
questions I would have posted to the OP and it also answers Gordon's.

Yes you will get the DVD. My question is it a perpetual license and it
shows that it is.

As long as your student qualifies, purchase the Enterprise version at £35.00
as shown on this site (expires October 31.)

That is a fantastic price for Enterprise edition of Office.
