Any other option besides .txt to save emails from Outlook to Word

I need a clean way to save over 1,000 emails to a standard format for view by
non-Outlook users. Seems the only way available is to export as .txt to Word.
Makes a mess of the emails though. Is there any other way? This is for
interrogatories so must save everything.
