Any way to compress pictures within Sharepoint 2007?

Hi,

I'm a newbie to website authoring and have published a site for a restaurant
that I work at. Some of the pictures are a little large and I understand
that there are other outside methods to compress them. I know that this
option is available in word and I am curious if there is a way to do such a
thing from within Sharepoint? Any and all help much-appreciated.

Resize to say 800*600 (certianly less than the 2036*1630 that digital
cameras create)
When saving use 75%

Are those options available from within sharepoint? I guess my question is,
once my site is up and running, am i able to take a picture that is already
within my site, and make it a smaller file size?
