Any way to disable gmail syncronization (sp?)?

I have 2 gmail accounts that I pull with Outlook 2007 and it seems to
take forever when pulling mail while it is syncronizing all the folders
on those 2 accounts. I am only interested in pulling for new mail on
those accounts, not the other folders. Is there any way to set that up
to do just the new mail?

I thought that, too, but Outlook 2007 isn't supported by gmail for POP,
it has to be IMAP. There are no settings to exclude any in gmail
folders that I could find. I figured since Outlook was always synching
the folders on a pull, that there was a way to exclude somne of them.

Really? I figured that the POP instructions in gmail would apply to any POP
client. They probably haven't updated it for Outlook 2007. That doesn't mean
it's not "supported", it's just that they haven't supplied assistance with
its configuration.

I'll give it a try at home on OL 2007; have you tried to configure it?

Where did you see Outlook 2007 supported for POP on gmail? I saw 2002
and 2003, but not 2007.

But I got it working. I used "Other" at the bottom and set the outgoing
port to the second number (587) on a whim and it worked! I also disabled
IMAP in the settings for both email addresses. I got the test message
that I had Outlook make for each account when I pulled.

When I had them set up in Outlook XP before, I never did get them to
pull right. They always acted like they were pulling and didn't give me
any errors, but I never got any messages from either account before I
moved up to Outlook 2007.

Thank you very much for the help. I learned something here today. Never
too old to learn, I guess, huh?

Thanks again. ;)

I didn't actually see it supported, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Glad you tried it, and posted your results!
