any way to have office 2003 and office 2007 in a harmonious existance?

Last time I tried it.. the two were fighting.. each time you launched one or
the other,
it went through a long repair.. then worked..

This is very annoying....

I need both for various reasons ...

any idea? Actually from office 2003 i need only word...

thanks

Hi Jim,

While MS has an article that says it's okay to run multiple versions of Office it's never been a 'recommended' strategy by
Microsoft, due to differennces in version features and the behavior you're seeing.

Because each version needs to have a matching set of similar, but not identical files in play, when you switch from Word 2003 to
Word 2007 the installer will run to resynch a variety of registry pointers and files to the version needed.

You may want to consider installing one or both of the Office versions on a Virtual PC module if your PC has the 'horsepower' to do
so - http://microsoft.com/virtualpc . That can let you run both without them 'seeing' each other.
