Any way to insert wmv files into 2004?

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)
Processor: Power PC

If both are Windows products why is wmv not a compatible format for movies in a presentation? I converted them to Quick Time but some clients don't have that player on their PC so they can't view the movie. I'd like to keep the original wmv file in the presentation but can't figure out how to make that happen.

Install the Flip4mac WMV Quicktime codecs on your Mac (free).
Hopefully, PPT will accept playing the WMV files after that,
