windows vista, oem office small business 2003. if i try to uninstall, repair
or add i get this message....
" this patch package could not be opened. verify that the patch package
exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to
verify that this is a valid windows installer patch package."
this seems to be a very common occurance, going by the ?s in this forum. is
there a so called MVP that has a solution. does microsoft actually know what
it means or are they going to brush this off as they do so often. come on
microsoft step up to the plate and give everyone with this error a
solution!!!!!!

pissed and frustrated

Perhaps if you weren't so pissed, you might have Googled and found

lowly MVP to help you.

This actually means that the registry entries and pointers have been
corrupted. The software might work though. Still anything which uses the
installer service assistance may not work. This may occur also if the
msocache ( setup files folder) is corrupt. Download the LIS tool and repair
the Local install source.

http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/7/b/b7b7d0e1-f125-46ed-9d65-95350e8d3f96/LISTool.exe

If that doesnot work, you might be required to download the WIndows install
cleanup utiility and remove office from your computer and then reinstall the
entire office. But this may require the office installation disk and the
product key.
The installer cleanup utility can be downloaded from
