Anyone have a database for Manpower Planning?

D

D Pierce

I am looking for a database format that will let me input the key position,
position holder, possible candidates, Development need, Officer responsible,
etc.

I need to be able to search by any of the various fields. Any help would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Debra

Hello Debra,

I provide help with Access applications for a very modest fee. Frequently I
work with customers developing the design of the table structure for a new
database. My fee for this work is very reasonable. If you would like my help
cpntact me at (e-mail address removed).

Hello Debra,

You'll need to define the main data elements that you will be storing
(people, positions etc.).....and then what data about each of those you wish
to store. And specifically what you want your database application to do
for you. That would be the starting point for either your own efforts or to
tell the form so that respondents can provide help.

Hope that helps your get started.

Sincerely

Fred

These newsgroups are not your private job search source. Folks who post
here expect to get (and give) free help.

Please stop trolling for jobs here.

I offered to help Debra if she needs to get her database up and running
immediately. It's up to her to decide. It's none of your business!!!!

On the contrary, when you solicit work here it may discourage folks from
posting their questions because they don't appreciate getting spammed.

But in one sense, you are absolutely correct. This is "none of my business"
.... mainly because I don't try to make my contributions here pay.

Please stop violating the spirit of these newsgroups with your unsolicited
spamming.

What do you still not understand about "volunteer newsgroup"? You know that
people will tell you to stop spamming these newgroups, and you know you will
have no credibility with the people to whom you make your offers, yet you
keep trolling for work here.

I apologize, Steve.

I just checked a formal definition of "spamming", which mentions
"indiscriminately send unsolicited bulk messages" (attribution: Wikipedia).

I have no evidence that your unsolicited commercial offers are sent in
"bulk".

This from the person who doesn't understand "volunteer". Without trying to
speak for Jeff, I expect his reply was intended to be ironic. I tend to
doubt he has become your new ally. However, if it helps ease your mind I
will say that I too misused "spamming" as a shorthand for "inappropriate
business solicitations in a public volunteer newsgroup". While you have
surely posted hundreds of solicitations, they were at many different times,
not all at once.

That is only one definition. Steve's posts and the canned meat seem to leave
the same after taste.

Sorry for the delay/interruption...

Have you tried checking the templates Microsoft offers at its website?

Have you used your favorite on-line search engine to search for terms like
"Manpower Planning" and "Microsoft Access"?

It's so hard to stick my tongue in my cheek and type at the same time...

Thanks, Bruce.

(was your tongue ...?)

So this only shows what you previously said "I apologize, Steve" was totally
insincere! One can only conclude that since you speak with a forked tongue
that nothing you say can be trusted!!!!

Sorry, but you misread or misinterpreted again.

I was sincere in my apology about calling your unsolicited trolling "spam",
as that was an incorrect term.

My tongue-in-cheek comment related to my "no evidence ..." statement.

Jeff

(P.S. -- you might want to look up the term "projection")

Are you looking in a mirror? You are the only one here being dishonest. Jeff
made an honest overstatement and apologized. You on the other hand make
libelous accusations and never apologize.

I don't know if you want a completed application or just a start on
designing your own. My guess is that you will have to at least modify a
pre-existing application. If you want to do your own, you should look here
(http://www.databaseanswers.org/data_models/index.htm) for a data model that
might match your requirements. There's an HR/Employee model that might work
with modifications.

Debra,

If I may speak directly,

What you have inadvertently asked is sort of like saying that you have to
drive from your house to your uncle's house, and are posing your question as
asking if we know somebody who drove that route before so that you could get
a copy of the directions. Aside from the obvious
customization/specialization part of the analogy, the other part is that once
you can describe what you specifically want, the answer will be relatively
simple.

May I suggest that you repost with a little more description on the process
that you are trying to database and on what you want your database
applicaiton to do for you?

Sincerely,
