Office for Mac 2008: Word currently has the 5th edition of APA reference formating. IS there the 6 edition APA update available?

Hi Penny:

In a word, "No". I don't know of any plans to include this in Office 2008.

If you wanted to hurry the process along, you may want to obtain the precise
specifications for APA edition 6 and provide those to Microsoft using the
Help>Send Feedback mechanism in Word.

Hope this helps

I doubt MS will update the styles. They probably will in a newer version.

If you have some XSLT knowledge and some free time, you could probably
adjust the current implementation to reflect the changes in the 6th version.
On most computers, the Word implementation of APA is stored at
"/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Microsoft
Word.app/Contents/Resources/Style/"

Just find a PC with Office 10 on it. Go to Bibliography/Style directory. Copy "APASixthEditionOfficeOnline.xsl" to your Mac. You need to edit the first line of this file;

Update
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>

To:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Then move the file to Microsoft
Word.app/Contents/Resources/Style/ on your Mac. It worked for me.
