Apostrophe's in FP getting wierd

Hi -
I'm on FP 2003, Windows XP Pro. This has been happening for while & I'm
just now getting around to asking about it. When I enter text directly on a
web page (in FP) and the word has an apostrophe in it (say, like "we'll"),
the apostrophe itself often shows up in the published version as '&apos' (I
can't remember it exactly but that is very close to being literally what you
see). So what I see online is something like 'we&aposll'.
Oftentimes, I can go back, delete & re-enter the text, and it'll fix the
problem, but that's getting very tiring. I appreciate any help on this.
Thanks,...Frank Bright

Well, I am a beginner, but I have found this happening to me also.

Basically, what FP is doing is replacing the apostrophe with the HTML code
for it. Sometimes using the original character will throw FP so it uses the
HTML code in place. These all commence in & and then have letters following,
or it could be & followed by #, a number and a semicolon (e.g. ' is ' "
is ' ) Actually, I thought even those codes that use letters also have
the trailing semicolon so we'll would be we'll (assuming apos is the
correct string - I don't know where to look that up).

I found it causes no problem. Occasionally I alter it for readability of the
code in HTML view, but it isn't necessary because it is interpreted and
displayed quite OK
