Appearance suddenly changed in Office 2003.

That's Outlook. What did it look like before? I.e., exactly what is missing
or what is there that's different from before? Is all of Office changed, or
just Outlook?

If the problem is the chevron at the bottom of menus, then right-click any
toolbar and choose Customize - Options tab, and click to enable "Always show
full menus".

For other settings, it's probably just a matter of view/customize settings.
I don't believe .net 2.0 is related to what you're seeing.

Also there is a problem with Windows that may affect the way Office appears.
I've noticed that the text-box below my desktop icons aren't transparent
anymore. Ive tried disabling and enabling "Use drop shadows for icon labels
on the desktop" under "performance options" but there is still a colorfilled
area around desktop-icon-text.

If the problem is the presence of the preview/reading pane at the bottom of
the window, then choose View - Reading Pane - Off.

If the problem is the fact that Outlook Today isn't showing, then click the
Outlook Today icon on the Advanced toolbar. Then choose Customize Outlook
Today, and click to enable "When starting, go directly to Outlook Today".

Did you ever resolve this issue? I am having the exact same thing happen
with Office 2003 and it is driving me crazy. My Outlook screen looks exactly
like the first screen shot you posted.

My hard drive nearly crashed on Monday and our IT department has worked on
my computer most of the week. When I got it back I had this issue.
Appreciate any help you can give -
Kim

Which post are you attaching your question to?????? The wonders of posting via the Web.

Sorry - but you still have not included the original message to which you posted a reply. Please either use the Microsoft on-line communities or a real news reader to post to this group and quote the message to which you are replying. Otherwise, you are wasting your time and ours with this needless back and forth.

After furious head scratching, Kim asked:

| The Outlook appearance problem - not the transparent problem.

Repeated ad nauseum with no reference to the original question? You're quite welcome.
