Apple Symbol font not in Office font menu

The Apple Symbol font in Panther has a lot of useful characters,
however it does not appear in the Word font menu. Any clues about what
I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Where is Symbol installed? Word will look at HD:Library:Fonts,
~:Library:Fonts (where ~ is your home directory) and the Classic
System folder for fonts - it should be in one of those three places.
