No matter what application I attempt to use I get the
following pop up window.

APP.EXE Application Error

The application failed to initialize properly
(0xc0150002). Click on OK to terminate the application

This happens for all products, I did attempt to repair
the installation, no luck. Tryinf uninstall and
reinstall now.

Update, I completely uninstalled office and reinstalled,
no dice. I am not sure if I loaded the service pack
before. I was also having network connection problems as
well, had to restore to a checkpoint to fix that.

Ok, that is exactly the error I am getting. But, I have
rebooted, powered down several times now with no luck. I
do not think I installed the service pack after the last
load. I will have to check on that and then reboot to
see if it clears it up.

After 2 day sof fighting the network connection problem
then the office problem, my brain is fried! Of course
the computer I expected to give me trouble is running
like a champ after I rebuilt it!

I think your problem is with Windows, not Office, and I suspect that no
amount of reinstalling Office will fix what's wrong in Windows. Your
fiddling with the network connection and "restoring to a checkpoint"
probably involved a "repair of Windows XP" in Microsoft-ese. Download
Windows XP Service Pack 1a from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/default.asp
and reinstall it, restart the computer when it tells you to, and then
try starting one of your Office 2003 applications. garfield-n-odie
