"Apply" Button greyed out when Defining Styles

Hi there,

I have an interesting problem, probably one that the experts here will
roll their eyes and say, "Man, is that easy..:

When I launch Visio 2003 I would like to set the Default Font to 14pt
Arial. I have figured out how to make the changes by using "Define
Styles..." however when I make the font size change the "Apply" button
stays greyed out and does not activate. I can change many of the
settings however the button still does not activate. Then when I close
Visio and reopen it the changes do not apply and it is back to the
default, Arial 8pt. I am using Visio Standard 2003. My feeling is that
maybe I need to define the location of where to save the changes in the
"File Locations" option however after testing this didn't work for me.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi Johnny,

It is by design that visio's default font is arial 12pt
Using styles you can set a default font per drawing
Just define the style and apply it to the drawing and then save the drawing

For that matter, you can define a font for the template say I open a block
diagram with font arial 8pt
and define a style with 14pt. then after I saved the template
the arial 14 pt is hooked to the template.
But unfortunately not to the stencil
So you need to define the font for all shapes as well

A workaround is to create a VBA macro that on opening of template, stencil,
drawing defines the font
