Apply extensions causes browser look

When we apply server extensions it causes our intranet to
come up in a browser look. When the server extensions are
removed we again see the intranet home page. How do I
install the server extensions and not get a browser look?
Our intranet runs on aWindows 2000 with IIS platform .

What do you mean by "browser look"? To install the extensions, open IIS,
right-click on your web and choose to install them from the flyout menu

I have installed server extensions FP 2002. I still
cannot send an email. I receive the error telling me to
load the extensions. We have even rebuilt the server and
installed front page extensions, then created a quick form
with just a test field and submit button - entering the
email address to submit to - and I get the error that I
cannot save the code because this server does not have
front page extensions in place. I am running Windows 2000
w/ IIS 5.

Have you applied the extensions to the actual web site after having
installed them on the server? Then you should be able to access the site via
http.

Sounds as if the wrong default home page is being retrieved. Have a look
for your intranet home page (index.htm?) and then check for other new
ones e.g. index.htm, default.htm etc. Delete the rogue ones.

Thanks - Bill
