Applying Calendar to project being saved to ProjectServer

O

OK

We don't want our projects to have another duration after saving to Project
Server ...

Problem with Calendar – stand alone project (attached) has a finish date
4/6/2006

Once I imported it to Enterprise, finish date has been changed to 3/30/2006

Some strange behavior that might help you to understand what’s going on:

Published project, Task 49, Confirm Requirements In/Out Scope

If you go to Calendar View, you’ll see that even though days of Nov 23, 24
and 25th are marked as non-working, task duration is calculated as if these
were working days.

How could we import an attached project so dates will remain the same ?

O

OK

To Clarify:

1) I first created the plan on my laptop (with saved versions on the
server);
2) I modified the standard calendar on my laptop and my dates were fine.
However, the version saved on the server was wrong;

3) Admin helped me create a project specific calendar on the server. From
this point onwards, dates on my laptop and the project server were consistent.

4) When importing/publishing the project to the server, the dates again went
wrong. Despite selection of either the Enterprise calendar or the project
specific custom calendar that had been saved on the project server.

Hi,
Have you assigned resources?
If yes then all the task will be based on the resource calendar and not the
project calendar that you created, thus changing the schedule.
You can also publish projects with local base calendars by checking Allow
Projects to use local base calendars on the server configuration page of the
admin tab.

Do let us know if it helps, if not we can suggest some other workaround

OK

And only when I applied this calendar to all tasks and checked "Schedule
ignores resources calendar" I see the correct finish date.
But is 'it a correct way ???

O

OK

Yes, resources are assigned
I changed Allow Projects to use local base calendars on the server
configuration page of the admin tab. But all in vain. Anyway it says "You
need Enterprise Calendar" during publishing and changes my schedule ...

Yes that is the correct way.
By know you must have known that the moment you assigned resources all the
task are scheduled on resource calendar. So to make project understand that
all the tasks should be based on project calendar use ignore resource
calendar option.
