Applying Template issue

I have created a new template. When I apply it to an exsiting Power Point
Presentation, the background is correct, the bullets are correct, but the
font doesn't change to what I specified. Is there something I have to do,
or something the original person set up in the presentation that needs to be
modified? Thanks!
