appointments not displayed in calendar 2002, recurring show up fin

T

Todd_Bunch

This is my situation. I have a machine with Office XP 2002 version. Running
Windows XP Pro SP3.

The user can add items to the calendar but they do not apper on the screen
after a save and close. They do trip the reminder even thought thet can't be
seen in any view day, week, month. They do turn the date bold in the small
calendar but when you go to that day nothing appears to be there.

Now if I set the appointment to recurring they all show up just fine. It is
only the none recuring events that do not display.

Thanks for the response.

I can see the appointments in different views. I can not see anything on the
day, week, month displays that the user uses most of the time. All of the
information is there just not being displayed unless it is recurring.

Thanks
Todd

Did you reset the view or change to a different view? It may be hiding all
appointment except recurring.
Can you see them in the By Category view?

Did you reset the view?
http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/resetview.htm

If so and it didn't work, which view does the user use? Does the user sync
with a handheld device, such as iphone or windows mobile smartphone?

I was able to correct the problem.

1. Exported current PST file.
2. The go to Tools,Options, mailsetup tab, data files, create a new pst file.
3. Import backup pst to new data file.
4. Reset delivery location to new data file and everything show up fine now.

I suppose there was some corruption to the previous data file even those
scanpst did not find any errors in the pst.

Thanks

You lost information in this process. You never use export/import to transfer
data fromone Outlook instance to another.

I can't tell that any data was lost. If you have another method I am all ears.

Did you try resetting the view? That should have fixed the problem without
all the extra steps you took. Plus importing loses data - autoarchive won't
work, and custom forms or custom views are gone.

Diane,
I am not sure I know how to reset the view. I checked all setting and
there were no customizations or changes to the standard views. We did not
have any custom forms or custom views on this user profile. He also does not
use the autoarchive feature. If that is the only data that is lost by doing
an import then I lost nothing really.

Thanks
Todd
