Approve Timesheets permission [2007]

Hello,
It seems that by default the Project Managers group doesn't have the Approve
Timesheets permision.
Is it right ? What is the logic of this setting ?

Hi robert,

that is correct, the reason why this is the case is because the PM is
interested what happens to his Project and not necessarly what happens to the
timesheet of a resource. It can well be that one resource works on more then
one project at the time and the PM may not be interested what happens outside
of his project. Thats why the Timesheet Manager has the permission to check
the timesheet of a resource. A timesheet manager may be the team leader of
department head or resource manager. These kind of resources are interested
what the resource has worked on overall and not only on a project.

In 2007 you will need to differenciate between Task update ( PM approves the
task update) and timsheet update ( timesheet manager approves the timesheet).

I hope this helps
