arabic words

I am a new Mac user and I have a problem in using arabic. When I type
arabic letters, the letters do not join. They stay apart.
However,when I use other softwares i.e text editors or Iwork, the
letters joined. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Use Mellel or one of the other word-processors.

Microsoft Word on the Macintosh does not support right-to-left languages.
