archive doesn't archive my e-mail

I'm trying to archive old messages in my personal folders. When I run the
archive function, clicking on "archive this folder and all subfolders" and
checking the "include items with 'do not archive' checked", the status bar
indicates that archiving is going on, the appropriate directory is created in
the archive file, but nothing is moved there. Even though the criteria is
items before 7/14/2004 and the items in the folder are dated back to 1998!
I'm using outlook 2002 on a Windows pro 2000 machine. Thanksfor any help!

Autoarchive operates on the "date modified' of the item - not necessarily
the date you see. If you have a lot of stuff, you can manually move it to
the archive folder.
