I had the same problem and fixed it by viewing the modified date. However,
I am at a loss as to how I "modified" over 600 e-mails at one time. What can
you do in Outlook that can cause modifications?

I have this same problem. Given so many have been modified I would really
like to reset the archiving function to work on "date received" not date
modified. Can this be done?
