Archive not functioning

When trying to run a manual archive, the process seems to
run yet the archive folder is empty and no messages have
been removed from the inbox. How can I fix this? it's
running Office 2000.

What are you expecting archive to do? Keep in mind that the dat archivig
acts upon is not the received date, but the modified date, which is
typically a hidden date. An item can have a received date of years ago, but
if you've touched it somehow since then, like moving it to another folder,
opening it, etc., then the modified date archiving acts upon is much newer.

all it's subfolders...for everything from 2002 and
before. It runs as seen on the task bar on the lower
right side of the screen. Then when reopening the Inbox,
all the old items are still there and nothing is put in
an archive file. It's a problem with one computer in our
office. Mine runs fine...I'm trying to solve this other
computer's problem. Any ideas? Thanks so much.

I am trying to run archive in Outlook on the Inbox and

Why not see what the modified date is so you can tell why your archive isn't
working? Right-click on the header bar if the Inbox list and click "Field
Chooser". In the drop-down at the top, choose "Date/Time fields". Then
drag the "Modified Date" to the header bar. You'll now be able to see the
date archiving will act upon and can adjust your archive setting date
accordingly.
