Archive Old Messages

Hi,
I have AutoArchive set on Outlook and it is working fine. My archive.pst
file is now approaching 2gB and I'd like to take all items prior to 1/1/2001
and archive to another file. I was able to go into outlook, select the
Archive Folders, and archive that folder to another pst file
archivePre2001.pst. I wasn't able to find a way to delete the items when
they were archived, it just seemed to copy. How can I delete these
messages?

Archive should always move items, not copy them. What steps did you take to
archive the items?

Jocelyn,
After reading your message I found the problem. I needed to compact the
folder, after that the size was reduced to just about what I expected.
