We're running Project Professional and Server 2003, and trying to come
up with a strategy to archive completed / old projects. Our objectives
are to;
a) retain a final copy of the project
b) have the finished project NOT show up in the list when we go to open
a project.
c) either completely keep it from showing up on Server's web access, or
limit this greatly.
Trolling the archive of the newsgroup, I came across two
recommendations for a & b :
~ saving a project to backup disks / tapes / cds and otherwise removing
it
~ somehow "hiding" the .mpp files, or setting them to a "hidden" state
Of course, I've got yet-unanswered questions about both. For the
first, would we risk losing any data related to these projects, like
actual time entered or project-related dates? As to the second, how
exactly does one implement this approach?
Also, would either help us with our third goal of hiding the projects
on the server / web access side?
Thanks in advance for the assist.
