Archiving Outlook/Exchange

My network consists of (4) Exchange 2000 SP3 servers, W2K
SP4 Advanced OS's that serve Outlook 2000/XP/2003 clients.

If the clients are required to Archive their mailboxe are
the archive files overwritten or appended at each
archiving time interval?

What is CLO? maybe im just tired but ive never heard of it.

The message is a build in security feature in OL2003 that warns when
applications access your Outlook adress book. This is ofcourse to prevent
massmailing virusses to send emails. So when you get the question you should
ask yourself am I using a program that should have access to my adress book?

So often its ok to yes. As the error explains "..it MAY be a virus...".

Archived items are added to the existing file -- nothing will be
overwritten.

That said, if you were to ask many of the Outlook and Exchange MVPs whether
or not archiving to .PST files is a good idea in an Exchange environment,
you'd generally get a mixed or negative answer. This article is often
