Are .gsa (groove archive) files compressed?

When I archive a Groove 2007 Standard Workspace to a .gsa archive, the total
size of the archive is smaller than when I view the size properties from
within the workspace. Are the .gsa files compressed?

Yes, GSA files are compressed and i think the size you see in Groove
contains the data not yet sync and a part the history of synchronisation.
When GSA file is created this extra data are deleted. It is why the size is
smaller.
