Are there "Sub" Slides?

B

Brandon

I'm looking to include "Sub" slides in my powerpoint presentation, but I'm
not sure if pp can do this or not. I'm wanting to start out on Slide Alpha,
but in the middle of the outline on slide Alpha, I'm wanting to advance to
an "explanation" slide that elaborates further on one point on slide Alpha.
Then advance the slide back to slide Alpha when I'm finished with the
explanation and pick up where I left off on slide Alpha (in the middle of
the outline). Is there a way to do this?

If I understand correctly, you have a slide that is animated, for example
with a list of bulleted points. You want to jump to another slide after
some of the bulleted points come up and then jump back to the slide with
the bulleted points where you left off.

If this is what you want, then it is easy. You want to hyperlink to
another slide. You can either highlight some text or add a button and
choose Hyperlink from the Insert menu. On the "sub" slide, you can
include a hyperlink back to the original slide (either linking directly
there or linking to "Last Slide Viewed"). It should return you back to
your original slide just how you left it.

That should work. I guess I knew about that option . . . I just didn't know
if there was a way to do this without having to "click" on something . . .
so it could be done by just advancing slides.

You might want to look at custom shows, but at some point you are going
to have to click to get to the custom show.
